Required for this course is a website (digital portfolio) of all projects, assignments, and evidence of your audio/visual art. At a minimum, it must meet the criteria listed below. I don't have a preference on the hosting service you use. There are many excellent, free, website builders out there (Weebly, Wix, Google, ImCreator, Jumdo, etc.) Remember, this is the professional face you choose to show the world. This portfolio may be used to apply for internships, jobs, applications for college/university.
critieria for your website
Pages: at the very least, your site should have the following pages
Contact: you MUST be able to be contacted via your site. Provide information that both protects your privacy and allows people to contact you. Somewhere on the site should be contact information or a contact form. If you use the latter (form), make sure you use an email that you check regularly.
Content: the purpose and theme of the site is clear. A professional looking at the site will know its purpose. Pages are clear and fully realized. Content is organized in a logical and consistent way (either by genre or project).
Layout and Design: the website has an attractive and usable layout. It’s easy to locate elements. Design choices are consistent across pages. Design elements don’t distract from readability.
Writing: all projects should be labeled and explained. Artist statements are fully developed and speak to intention and process. Conventions in language are very few and don’t distract from the content. Language is clear to read and understand. Style of writing is clear, consistent, and informative.
Audio/Visual: embedded audio and visual content function properly. Slide shows are easy to use. Images are easy to read and access.
Navigation: all links for navigation are clearly labeled and accurate. All links function properly
Copyright: fair use guidelines are followed. All copyrighted material is cited correctly.
